Half way through the autumn term, the Pre-Master's students went on a day trip to Boyne Valley getting to know Ireland's past. Of course they also experienced typical Irish weather with bright sunshine in the morning, clouds building up over lunch time and persistent wind and rain later in the afternoon. However, it was a great day out that everybody enjoyed.

Welcoming the 2024/25 Students
On Monday 9th September a new group of international students joined the Pre-Master's Pathway Programme. It is great to see this year's students adding to the cultural diversity in UCD. The participants of the programme come from Belarus, Chile, China, Japan, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Ukraine. We wish them a great experience in UCD.
We invited Michelle Coen from UCD Careers Network to talk to the Pre-Master's students about their careers this March. Michelle gave very good advice on how to take charge of your own career, where to get started, career development, and job portals. We wish the students all the best on their journey finding recruitment in Ireland.
In March the Pre-Master's students braved the cold east wind and rain on a nonetheless great day out in County Wicklow. Watching the impressive performance of a sheepdog first, we travelled on to Beyond the Trees in Avondale and then followed the path of St. Kevin through ancient ruins in Glendalough past a small waterfall towards the lower lake.
In February we hosted a "Past meets Present" event, bringing Pre-Master's Programme students from 2023/24 together in person with students who passed the programme in previous years. The event was a great success with students getting information first hand. Three Master's students and one PhD student shared helpful knowledge about their own experience and journey in UCD so far.
